Events industry professionals are being invited to join a new annual conference and networking day — BLEND Abu Dhabi — organised by Yas Marina Circuit and sourceME on October 17, 2017.

BLEND Abu Dhabi promises to shake up traditional conference formats while tapping into the latest industry insight and presents influential speakers in an inspiring new space – Yas Conference Centre (YCC). Attendance is free for pre-qualified event industry professionals.

“The purpose of BLEND Abu Dhabi is to create a platform to share global event industry trends, meetings innovation and event technology with industry professionals within the region” explained Sales and Marketing Director for Yas Marina Circuit, Nick McElwee.

The one-day conference has lined up an impressive trio of speakers who are among the top 50 global influencers within the meeting and event industry worldwide and each will tackle an aspect of current and future opportunities for the regional events sector.

Julius Solaris is widely considered as one of the greatest influencers in meetings and events, specialising in event tech and trends. His keynote session ‘Successful Events of the Future (and how to plan them)’ promises to provide early warning of the opportunities that lie ahead, as well as offering concrete advice on how to tap them. This will be compelling for professionals at a time when technology plays a bigger part than ever in event planning, execution and ongoing engagement with attendees.

Shawna Suckow, founder of SPIN Senior Planners Industry Network, is an expert in customer and audience engagement and her workshop ‘What Meeting Professionals Need To Unlearn in 2018’ will provide immediate input to professionals gearing up for new challenges next year.

Completing the bill is Adrian Segar, a global go-to expert for designing, convening and facilitating conferences. His closing session ‘Creating Participatory Meetings That Deliver Learning, Connection, Engagement and Action’ will guarantee that delegates leave with plenty of inspiration for their next event.

The venue host is world-famous Yas Marina Circuit, which is home to a new cutting-edge meeting space – Yas Conference Centre. Set to be the go-to destination for events with a difference, guests can expect everything from state-of-the-art sound systems and lighting effects to innovative content.

“At Yas Conference Centre, our in-house team of Event Planners focus on attendee engagement by offering creative solutions that are aligned to global industry trends,” added McElwee.

“By bringing global industry icons, like Julius Solaris, Shawna Suckow and Adrian Segar to BLEND Abu Dhabi, we are following our Yas Conference Centre ethos, which is ‘doing business, just not as usual’.”

Moving away from traditional lecture-style speaker formats, and instead opting for an engaging and interactive experience, visitors to BLEND Abu Dhabi can take part in the day’s programme while lounging on bean bags before networking with other delegates in a picnic-style lunch format.

The perfect showcase for all YCC has to offer, BLEND Abu Dhabi introduces an impressive new venue capable of welcoming up to 1,200 guests in a variety of innovative setups.
