Where to stay: Delegates at the Maritim Sharm El Sheikh International Congress Centre can stay at the adjoining Maritim Hotel & Resort Royal Peninsula, which has 337 rooms and suites. The spacious hotel complex also enjoys direct access to the 18-hole championship golf course and occupies an enviable spot between Naama Bay and Sharm El Sheikh’s International Airport.
Best Feature: This doesn’t feel like a business hotel at all. Situated on miles of sandy beach it’s a bit too tempting to take the day off and indulge in some water sports and feel like you’re on holiday.
Other options: Port Ghalib International Convention Centre (ICC) is a popular venue for meetings, incentives, conferences and events. The ICC has three hotels attached to it specifically built to service the business tourism and meetings market. All run by IHG there is one InterContinental hotel and two Crowne Plazas. “The meeting facilities of the convention centre are in the middle of the complex with the hotels around it. Clients can do their meetings and enjoy the beach, combining both leisure and business together,” says Sherif Omar, global sales manager, IHG.
Why choose it: With so many hotel rooms and a huge purpose-built convention centre in the middle, Port Ghalib is the perfect option for hosting large scale incentive meetings. “A lot of pharmaceutical companies have their meetings here, and car manufacturing companies use it for product launches. Because the capacity of the complex is so big we can accommodate a huge number, easily thousands of rooms,” says Omar.
