Dubai

Where to stay: The Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) has two hotels attached to it – the Novotel and Ibis (both managed by Accor). Ibis is a budget hotel offering all the basic features a business traveller could need, but for those seeking something a little plusher you could upgrade to the four-star Novotel, which features three room types: superior, executive and suite. The Novotel also has a business centre with eight meeting rooms and leisure facilities such as an outdoor pool and gym.

Best feature: Trying to get a taxi outside DICEC can be practically impossible after a big exhibition so for delegates the location is unbeatable. For those who want to escape the exhibition centre there are shuttle buses to all the major shopping malls and Jumeirah Beach Park.

Why choose it: Both hotels are specifically geared up for the meetings sector, with attractive booking rates offered for groups. “We work very closely with DICEC to ensure that for all exhibitions we keep rooms available for groups so that an overall attractive package can be offered,” says Diana Ionescu, PR & marketing manager, Novotel - Ibis, Dubai World Trade Centre.
