Reed Travel Exhibitions has appointed Nancy Walker as event sales director on AIBTM, set to take place Baltimore in the US in June 2011.
AIBTM, taking place from June 21–23, 2011, will attract around 3,000 decisionmakers of whom 500 will be delivered through Reed Travel Exhibitions’ Hosted Buyer Programme.
Walkerjoins the AIBTM from Reed Business Information, where she was vice president, associate publisher, responsible for sales management and marketing of integrated media platforms for Tradeshow Week, incorporating three annual directories and event sponsorship sales. She has a wealth of experience in a variety of travel related sectors including convention and visitor bureaus, convention centres and event technology companies.
Commenting on her new role Walker said: “This is an exciting time for the meetings industry in the US and I am delighted to bring my knowledge and experience of the market to what is set to be the major meetings event in the US when it opens in June 2011.”

AIBTM will provide meeting and event professionals in all sectors – association, corporate, government and third party – with quality interaction with over 300 North American and international exhibitors. The 3,000 buyer attendees will be made up of North American based meeting planners with domestic, interstate and international business, plus international planners and buyers.
Exhibitors already signed up to AIBTM include NYC & Company, Eugene/Travel Lane County, Mexico Tourism Board, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Austrian National Tourist Office, Condor Travel, Essence of Bali DMC, Government of Dubai, Monaco Tourist Office, Silversea Cruises, Skyteam Global Meetings and Wedgewood Travel Limited.
