Taking place from November 25 to 26, the World Medical Tourism Summit (WMTS) will delve into the thriving sector.
Medical tourism is currently valued at AED72.4 billion (US$19.7 billion), a figure which is expected to soar to AED171 billion (US$46.6 billion) over the next three years.
The government-supported WMTS, being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, forms part of the Muslim-majority tourism event International Travel Week Abu Dhabi.
David Wilson, Managing Director of event organiser Cacti Media SL, said: “Until now, there has been no forum dedicated to the needs of medical tourism professionals working predominantly in Muslim-majority markets.
“WMTS is a targeted event for medical tourism and healthcare professionals wanting to network with the most important suppliers and buyers based in member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.”
